Nelson Mandela Bay Municipal residents in the areas mentioned below should brace themselves for water shut down that will take place from 4pm on Wednesday 17 May.
This regrettable state of affairs is owing to the pipes that need some reworking in the affected areas. The two 450mm water mains are interconnected and the old valves are bypassing water under their gates, meaning that we unfortunately have to shut down both 450mm water mains.
Water will be off from 16:00. The shutting of the valves takes about an hour and the contractor will start cutting the pipe at 18:00; once peak traffic has subsided. We will carry out the repair as fast as we can without compromising on the quality of the repair.
The affected areas are as follows:
Roos Street, Schauderville, Adcockvale, Perridgevale, Greenacres, Parsons Hill, Millard Grange, Westview, Glen Hurd, Linkside, Scotsoun, Hallack Road, St Georges Park including Jutland and Craig Bain Streets, Mill Park, Newton Park, Central, Richmond Hill, Cotswold, Fernglen.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask the public and businesses to bear with us as we repair this important pipeline.
